‘Madrid is having nothing and having everything.’
Ramón Gómez de la Serna
Our journey across Spain culminated in the vibrant city of Madrid. Traveling from Valencia (read here for more details on Valencia), we opted for Renfe for our transit but, like before, there was no internet on the train.
We arrived in the afternoon and opted to stroll across Puente de Toledo bridge. Below, a large garden bustled with people practicing yoga, engaging in aerobics, and simply basking in the sunlight. It quickly dawned on us that Madrid is a city adorned with stunning gardens and breathtaking landscapes. The array of flowers was exceptionally beautiful.

Passing by the Royal Palace of Madrid, situated atop a hill, treated us to a splendid panoramic view of the city. Given Madrid’s hilly terrain, we found ourselves frequently ascending or descending hills.

As night fell, Plaza de Cibeles lit up with beautiful blue lights, a really exquisite sight.

While looking at options for dinner, we stumbled upon a restaurant called TeppanyakiFish. It had great reviews, and despite not reserving a direct grill table, we could enjoy the showmanship from a distance, savoring the delightful tricks.
The following day, our itinerary led us to the Temple de Debob, a sight to behold in Madrid’s heart.

Lunch at Lego de la Cast de Campo proved to be a hidden gem, nestled beside a serene lake with a picturesque walking path—an ambiance that left a lasting impression.

Immersing ourselves in the essence of Spanish culture, we indulged in a music and dance show at Torres Bermejas, accompanied by delectable finger foods.
For those curious about Tapas, a quintessential Spanish snack, our ticket included this cultural treat, enriching our experience.
Our flight was the next day, and since the airport was far from the city, we booked a hotel nearby that offered airport drop-offs. That was convenient, especially for odd flight timings.
A highlight was Kathmandu Tandoori House, where we had delicious Indian food.
Madrid is full of great food, culture, and lovely views. We enjoyed every moment and savor the experience in this amazing city!
